CS Foundation Exam Pattern
CS Foundation Exam is conducted by the Institute of Companies Secretaries of India which from time to time modify the syllabus and exam pattern of CS exam to meet the requirements of changing business environment. In 2017 the CS exam Syllabus was revised. The new examination patterns of CS Foundation exam are detailed below:
1. Type of Questions: MCQ
2. Mode: Computer Based Exam
3. No of Questions: 50
4. Marks: 2 Marks for every correct answer (No negative marks for wrong answers) 
5. Duration: 90 Mins
6. Frequency of exam: Twice (June and December)
7. Subjects: Four Papers:
PAPER 1: BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT AND LAW (Day 1)
PAPER 2: BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, ETHICS & ENTREPRENEURSHIP (Day 1)
PAPER 3: BUSINESS ECONOMICS (Day 2)
PAPER 4: FUNDAMENTALS OF ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING (Day 2)
8. Passing Criteria: Minimum 40% (40 Marks) in each subject and aggregate of 50% (200 Marks) in all subjects
